3 Generations of Fighters
Look at your past and you will see your future. One day, The History Channel was showing a
program called Gladiators; and upon winning in the Arena, gladiators would etch their names onto the Coliseum
walls. The History Channel showed one of the names on the rock slabs; his name was Amato. It
could be a coincidence however, in my mind, doubtful.
Boxing is in the blood. First starting with my Uncle Jimmy "White" Amato; he was a Professional Middleweight.
My father, John Amato, is the 2nd Gen Fighter, only fighting in the amateur's, but having 49 fights. I am the 3rd
Gen., still training but prefer the Coaching side of the Game.
I started at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, New York with my Trainer Hector Roca, learning the skill and technique to become
proficient. I have sparred with Maureen Shea, who has now turned Pro, and her current record is 10-0. I also
had a sparring op. with Alisha Ashley, World Boxing Champ, in learning the ropes of the trade. Currently, I am a USA Boxing
Coach, registered in Colorado Springs, Colorado and I train clients at the J/Medical City Health & Recreation Center
in Dallas, Texas.
Boxing will help take my clients away from the stress of everyday life and turn a challenging, calorie-burning
workout into an exciting adventure. For more information and rates please contact Jonna at jojo@jonnaocampo.com.
I believe everyone deserves to be excited about their dreams. I don't want to just create a workout for you,
I want to create an experience. For lessons contact Jonna at jojo@jonnaocampo.com.
